Poor gas supply hits B'baria dist town

BRAHMANBARIA, September 11: About 5000 gas-run ovens in Brahmanbaria district town residential area do not function properly due to acute short supply of gas by the regional office of Titas Gas Transmission and Distribution Company Limited (TGTDCL), sources said.
Local people said that most of the gas-run ovens here are kept turned off during cooking time because of the low pressure of gas. As a result, many subscribers of the town have started using kerosene-run stoves.
The areas which are facing the problem are: Maiddha para, Fulbaria, Munsef para, Pairtala, Daria para, Chai ghoria para, Kazi para, Mourail, etc., of the district town.
Clients of the TGTDCL urged the concerned authorities to take necessary action to ensure smooth supply of gas in Brahmanbaria district town area soon.
