The postponed English 2nd part examination of Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) under Dhaka Education Board and BIDS will be held on June 8.
Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid announced the fresh date of the examination while he was speaking with the journalists at his ministry Thursday.
Earlier on Wednesday night, the board postponed the written examination scheduled for Thursday morning following allegations of the question paper leakage.
The education minister said following the allegations of question paper leakage from different sources, the ministry immediately took steps to postpone the written examination.
"We've taken the issue seriously," he said and vowed to punish the culprits, if the allegations were found to be true.
Mr Nahid said the ministry had formed a seven-member high-powered committee headed by its additional secretary Sohrab Hossain to investigate the alleged leakage of the question paper.
He added that the team was asked to submit its report within 15 working days. Besides, they are also asked to recommend necessary steps in this regard.
The committee was also asked to prepare some additional recommendations to put an end to the question paper leakage, which seriously impedes usual education procedure, he added.
Meanwhile, the Dhaka Education Board also formed another five-member committee led by its secretary Prof Abdus Salam Hawlader to investigate into the alleged question paper leakage.
This year a total of 1,141,374 students from 8,104 schools are participating in the country's one of the largest public examinations.
