As in previous years, the preliminary round of the 15th Bangladesh Chemistry Olympiad 2026 for students of the Rajshahi region was held at Rajshahi University (RU), organised under the initiative of the Bangladesh Chemical Society.
The Department of Chemistry, University of Dhaka, and the Bangladesh Chemical Society jointly organised the Olympiad, which began its preliminary round at Rajshahi University Model School on Saturday.
HSC and A-Level level students from various colleges and institutions of the Rajshahi division participated in the competition.
Prof Dr Yamin Reza, Acting Chairman of RU's Department of Chemistry, said the annual Chemistry Olympiad aims to boost students' interest in the subject and congratulated participants from distant areas.
