Premier Univ holds 2nd convocation

CHATTOGRAM, July 21: Deputy Minister for Education Barrister Muhibul Hasan Chowdhury Nowfel said most of the private universities are not engaged in the creation of knowledge.
He said they are only running after money.
He, however, said many private universities are providing higher education in the country.
The deputy minister came up with the remarks while speaking at the second convocation of Premier University(PU) at the Navy Convention Hall in the port city on Sunday morning.
He said the time has come to monitor the activities of the universities which are involved in making money in stead of imparting knowledge to the students.
Chairman of University Grants Commission Prof Dr Kazi Shahidullah presided over the convocation of PU while former governor of Bangladesh Bank Dr Mohammed Farashuddin addressed the function as convocation speaker.
Vice Chancellor of PU Prof Dr Anupam Sen delivered the welcome speech.
