President M Abdul Hamid , Prime Minister (PM) Sheikh Hasina and BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia greeted the countrymen Sunday as well as the Muslims across the world on the occasion of holy Eid-ul-Fitr, the greatest festival of the Muslim Ummah, reports BSS.
In separate messages on the eve of the holy Eid, they prayed for continued peace, progress and prosperity of the country and the Muslim Ummah.
In his message, President Abdul Hamid said: "I extend my greetings and good wishes to the countrymen and all the people in the world on the occasion of the holy Eid-ul-Fitr."
In her message, the PM called upon all to reflect the teachings of Eid-ul-Fitr in personal, social and national lives.
"After the month-long self-restraint, Eid has brought the message of happiness," she said, adding, "Eid teaches peace, sense of fellow feeling and fraternity."
UNB report adds: Prime Minister (PM) Sheikh Hasina will exchange Eid greetings with a cross-section of people on Eid day, reports UNB.
According to the official schedule, the PM will first exchange greetings with a cross-section of people at the main entrance of Ganobhaban at about 9:30 am.
Later, at about 11:30 am, she will exchange Eid greetings with diplomats, judges, senior civil and military officials and party leaders at the Ganobhaban.
