President Abdul Hamid said Tuesday it is possible to build a happy and prosperous society if the affluent section of society comes forward for the welfare of the ignored and deprived community, according to a news agency.
“I think it’s possible to build a happy and prosperous society if the rich and well-off people extend their heart as well as their resources for the welfare of the ignored and deprived section,” he said.
The President said this while addressing the year-launching ceremony of Rotary International District 3281 at city’s Hotel Sonargaon.
Hamid said, “Man is the best superior among all creation, and to serve the creation is the greatest virtue. Great pleasure lies in service to the creation. It’s possible to make the life really meaningful and successful not by working for oneself rather by working for others’ welfare. We know that service to the creations means service to the creature.”
The President hoped that the Rotarians would extend their development programme for the welfare of the underprivileged people.
