NILPHAMARI, Mar 28 (UNB): President Abdul Hamid urged the members of Electrical and Mechanical Engineering (EME) Corps of the Bangladesh Army to acquire capability to face the challenges of modern technology through hard works, perseverance and high-quality training.
"We've already introduced many modern equipment in Army and this process is on. The EME corps members' professional challenges have increased much in dealing with the modern equipment.
So, all the EME members must earn the capability to face the challenges," he said.
President Md Abdul Hamid was addressing the 5th reunion of the Army EME corps 2018 at Saidpur Cantonment here on Wednesday.
"There's no alternative to training in military life. Training helps all maintain discipline, enhance professional knowledge, skills and loyalty, he said adding, "you've to continue efforts to take training regularly."
Mentioning that the EME Corps is an important technical corps of the Bangladesh Army, the President said the corps is bestowed upon the responsibility to make all war related weapons through maintenance, repair and inspection.
President Hamid also voiced his firm conviction that Bangladesh Army will turn into a modern, effective, time-befitting and comprehensive force by 2030 with the successful implementation of 'Forces Goal 2030'.
"In the light of the present government's 'Vision 2021', the implementation process of the Forces Goal-2030 of the Bangladesh Army as well as its finalisation is in progress.
I firmly believe the Bangladesh Army will be transformed into a complete, modern, effective and time befitting force with the completion of the Forces Goal-2030," the President added.
