President visits historical sites, mosques in Madinah

President Abdul Hamid, now in Saudi Arabia for performing hajj, on Thursday visited the Ohud Maidan and historical sites in Madinah, reports UNB.
During the visit, the President recalled with profound respect the contributions of the martyrs who laid down their lives for the cause of Islam, said President's Press Secretary Ihsanul Karim over phone.
Later, President Hamid visited Masjid ul Qubaa, Masjid al-Qiblatain and Masjid Al-Jumu'a, and performed nafal namaj (additional prayers) there.
He also offered a special Munajat seeking divine blessings for the continued peace, prosperity and progress of the country.
The President is scheduled to return home by a regular flight of Biman on today (Friday) evening.
