President's parade held at BMA

CHITTAGONG, June 21 (BSS): A total of 71 cadets formally passed out of Bangladesh Military Academy (BMA) at a glittering ceremony at Bhatiary here Thursday.
Among them, 62 cadets including three female cadets from 66 BMA Long Course and six cadets from 37 BMA Special Course were commissioned to Bangladesh Army. Also from 66 BMA Long Course, seven cadets were commissioned to Palestine and two cadets were commissioned to Sri Lankan Army.
To mark the occasion, the President's Parade was held at the Academy, Chief of Army Staff, General Md Abdul Mubeen, ndc, psc reviewed the smartly turned-out parade and took salute of the impressive march past as the chief guest. He also distributed the trophies and awards to the outstanding cadets.
Battalion Senior Under Officer AKM Riazul Ahsan was adjudged the best all round cadet and awarded with the coveted 'Sword of Honour'. Besides, Company Sergeant Major Md Mahmudul Hasan received the 'Chief of Army Staff's (CAS) Gold Medal' for his outstanding performance in military subjects.
Meanwhile, Jahangir Company received the BMA Colour for the Summer Term on the basis of different inter-company competitions. The cadets formally took oath and were later adorned with the rank badges by the Chief of Army Staff (CAS), Senior Military Officers and respective parents and guardians.
