Prices of most essentials remain stable in city

The retail prices of most of the essentials and vegetables remained stable in the city markets, according to a market report of Bangladesh Rifles (BDR) Saturday, reports BSS.
The price of coarse rice in different markets, including Kamalapur, New Market, Karwanbazar, Kalyanpur, Kachukhet and Mohammadpur, ranged between Tk 22 and 23 per kg since Friday.
Rice is being sold at taka 23 at BDR-run open markets and Tk 19 at BDR-run sales centres.
Packet of one-kg flour is being sold between Tk 31 and 32 in kitchen markets, while the price of the item is Tk 31 in BDR-run open markets and Tk 29 at BDR-run sales centres.
The price of imported lentil (mashur) is between Tk 62 and 65 per kg in ordinary markets, while it is being sold at Tk 65 in BDR-run open markets and Tk 58 at BDR-run sales centres. In Kolkata, the price of the lentil is taka 71 per kg.
Imported gram (Chhola) is being sold at a price ranging between taka 63 and 65 per kg in different retail markets.
The item is being sold at taka 56 in BDR-run open markets and Taka 55 at BDR-run sales centres.
Sugar is being sold at Tk 28 per kg in kitchen markets and BDR-run open markets.
Onion (imported) is being sold at Tk 35 to Tk 38 per kg in city markets, while it is being sold at taka 25 at BDR-run sales centres.
The price of green chilli, however, is ranging between Tk 120 and 150 per kg in city markets. The item is sold at Taka 150 at BDR-run open markets.
Potato is being sold at taka 20 per kg in all the kitchen markets. The price of potato in BDR-run open market is taka 19 and at BDR sales centres taka 18.
Soyabean oil is being sold at taka 77 to 80 per litre in city kitchen markets, while it is available at taka 81 in BDR-run open markets and taka 73 at BDR-run sales centres.
Palm oil is being sold at taka 73 to 78 per litre in retail markets.
The item is being sold at taka 80 per kg in BDR-run open markets and taka 73 at BDR-run sales centres, the report added.
