Probe body formed over ex-wife's allegations against army officer

The Bangladesh Army has formed a high-level investigation board to probe an allegation that a senior army officer abused a woman, reports BSS.

The complainant is the former wife of a dismissed army officer, said an ISPR press release on Friday. The ex-army officer had previously been convicted in a sensational criminal case, was subsequently dismissed from service and is currently serving a prison sentence. Bangladesh Army was aware of the allegation of the abuse before it surfaced on social media and had already initiated a serious investigation.
