CHATTOGRAM, May 28: The investigation committee formed by Department of Health to probe the incident of dumping a dead baby into the dustbin has served a show cause notice on the director of a private hospital in the city.

Director (health) stationed in Chattogram Dr AM Mujibul Haque said he served a notice on the director (admin) of People's Hospital, a private clinic, at Chawkbazar in the city on Monday to explain as to why actions would not be taken against him for 'his irresponsibility'.

The notice has been served on Dr Ahad, director (admin) of the hospital, as per the recommendations put forward by the two-member probe committee.

Dr Mujibul Haque said an ayah of the hospital dumped the dead baby boy, delivered by Amena Begum (26), a resident of Chandgaon area in the city, into a dustbin.

Amena gave birth to twin children in the hospital on May 22. The baby boy was delivered dead while the baby girl was alive.
