General students of the University cannot use the computer centre. Even students of Physics, Applied Physics, Communication Technology and Computer Science departments are also deprived of this facility.

At present, only 450 persons can use the computer centre, RUCC officials said there was no generator in the centre .As a result, in case of load-shedding the users of the centre have to wait for electricity for a long time.

Anisur Rahaman a student of Agronomy department and also user of the centre told this correspondent that they could hardly go for internet connection as the server was very slow and the necessary software that were essential for researchers were not available at the centre.

The annual budget allocation for the centre was also very poor, officials said, adding replacement of old computers and development of the centre could not be done due to shortage of fund.

When contacted administrator of the centre Prof Dr Assaduzzaman Shah Administrator of RUCC told this correspondent they were trying to reach the highest facility of the centre to all students of this University so that they could build themselves up as experts in the IT sector.
