Prof Abul Kashem Mia joins UIU as pro-VC

Professor Dr Md Abul Kashem Mia joined United International University (UIU) as pro-vice chancellor on Monday, says a press release.

President Abdul Hamid, also the chancellor of the university, appointed him for a 4-year term.

Professor Kashem obtained his PhD in System Information Sciences at Tohoku University, Japan in 1998 and MS from the same university in 1995. He did his master's in CSE and bachelor in EEE from Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) in 1992 and 1989 respectively.

Prior to his joining, he was a professor of BUET.
