Prof Mamun Ahmed joins as UGC Chairman

Educationist, researcher and Dhaka University Pro Vice-Chancellor (Academic) Professor Dr Mamun Ahmed has taken charge as the 15th Chairman of the University Grants Commission (UGC) of Bangladesh on Wednesday, reports BSS.

He formally assumed the charge in accordance with a notification issued by the Secondary and Higher Education Division of the Ministry of Education.

UGC outgoing Chairman Professor Dr SMA Faiz handed over the charges to the newly appointed chairman.

UGC members Professor Dr Mohammad Tanzimuddin Khan, Professor Dr Mohammad Anwar Hossain, Professor Dr Md Saidur Rahman, Professor Dr Machuma Habib, Professor Dr Mohammad Ayub Islam, UGC Secretary Dr Md. Fakhrul Islam, along with directors, officers and employees of various departments of the commission were present at the event.
