Prospect of fish farming bright in Dinajpur

RANGPUR, July 23 (BSS): Speakers at a programme organised on the occasion of fish fortnight urged the people of Dinajpur to turn the district into a fish producing area as the prospect of fish farming is very bright in the district.
They made the observation while releasing fish fries and holding awareness raising programme as a part of the ongoing nationwide campaign for preservation and increasing production of local species of fish at Nolbai Canal Bazar under Khansama Upazila of Dinajpur.
Organised by Department of Fisheries of Dinajpur, the function was attended, by Abul Muksed Muhammad Wazed Thakur of 16 Artillery Brigade in Parbotipur as the chief guest while Nazmul Hassan, Deputy Commissioner of Dinajpur AM Saiful Hassan, Dinajpur Police Super Mostafa Kamal, UNO of Khansama Fazlul Karim were present as special guests.
Goaldighee Union Parishad chairman Shahadat Hossain Bablu and Khansama Upazila Fisheries Officer Rukunuzzaman also spoke on the occasion presided over by District Fisheries Officer of Dinajpur Abdus Sattar.
Abul Muksed asked all concerned for preserving the indigenous species of fish saying that those are integral part of our national heritage.
