Pry school teachers to wear black badges Sept 16-20

Teachers of primary schools across the country will wear black badges on September 16-20 to press home their demands, including fixing the salary scale of the assistant teachers at one step below that of headmasters.

The programme was announced at a press conference organised by Bangladesh Assistant Primary Teachers’ Society at Suritala Model Govt Primary School at Gulistan in the capital Friday, according to a news agency.

Under the latest salary scale announced by the Prime Minister on March 9 this year, assistant teachers are receiving payment under a scale three steps below that of the headmasters.
