The Primary School Certificate (PSC) and its equivalent examinations will start across the country from Sunday next.
This year more than 3.10 million primary school students will appear at the country's largest public examinations.
Of the examinees, some 2.8 million students will sit under PSC, while about 0.30 million students will sit under Ebtedayee exam.
The 2.5-hour examinations will start at 11:00 am. The examinations are scheduled to conclude on November 30, 2014.
In the PSC examinations, the girl students will surpass the boys as the number of female students is 1.5 million and that of the boys is 1.3 million.
Primary and Mass Education Minister Advocate Mustafizur Rahman disclosed the details of the examination plan and the ministry's preparation at his office in the capital Thursday.
The minister said all necessary preparations have been taken to properly hold the examinations across the country. When asked about the security measures, the minister said they have taken a set of steps to ensure safeguarding of the question paper.
"However, in spite of all the measures, there remain chances of question paper leakage under the traditional system of question paper setting," he noted.
Mr Rahman said they are considering introducing a digital system instead of the traditional one in preparing and distributing question papers in the future.
The PSC exam schedule is as follows:
English on November 23, Bangla on November 24, Bangladesh and Biswa Parichiti on November 25, Primary Science on November 26, Religion and Moral Education on November 27, and Mathematics on November 30.
The Ebtedayee exam schedule is as follows:
English on November 23, Bangla on November 24, Paribesh Parichiti on November 25, Arabic on November 26, Qur'an and Tajbid on November 27 and Mathematics on November 30.
