PSC recommends disciplinary action against 192 officers

Public Service Commission (PSC) organised 70 examinations in which 1,70,577 candidates appeared last year, reports BSS.

Of the 70 examinations, the PSC has already published the results of 29 examinations and made recommendations for appointments of the successful candidates.

Chairman of the PSC Dr Sa'adat Husain leading a delegation of the organisation informed President Zillur Rahman of these when he made a courtesy call on the President at Bangabhaban today.

The delegation also apprised the President of various features of the PSC annual report-2008. The President received the report on March 1.

During the meeting, the PSC chairman said disciplinary action against 192 officers out of 201 cases were recommended during the period.

President Zillur was also apprised of different procedures for conducting tests and examinations for selection of suitable candidates for appointments to the services of the Republic.

The President gave them a patient hearing and expressed his satisfaction over the activities of the PSC.

The delegation included eight members and the secretary of the PSC.

Military Secretary to the President Major General Mohammad Ruhul Amin and Press Secretary to the President Abdul Awal Howlader were also present.
