The government has relocated the public library to the Institution of Engineers, Bangladesh (IEB) Ramna from Shahbag on Wednesday on a temporary basis.
The state minister for the Ministry of Cultural Affairs KM Khalid inaugurated the readers' service activities in the library, known as Sufia Kamal National Library, to implement the multistoried public library building projects by demolishing the previous building.
The tenure of the project is from May 2021 to December 2024. Secretary of the ministry Md Abul Mansur attended the programme as the special guest. The library would remain open every day from 9.0 am to 5.0 pm, except Fridays and other public holidays.
