Qulkhwani of Sayeeda Zaman today

The Qulkhwani of noted writer Mrs Sayeeda Zaman, wife of Mr Shahiduzzaman Khan, Executive Editor of The Financial Express, will be held today (Friday) after Asr prayers at the residence of Mr Khan, Flat No 814 (lift 08) at Motaleb Plaza in the capital's Hatirpool area.

Relatives, friends and well-wishers of Mrs Sayeeda have been requested to attend the Qulkhwani and pray for the salvation of her departed soul.

Mrs Zaman, author of 20 books on poems, novels and research works, died at Square Hospital in the city Tuesday night (February 11, 2014) of brain cancer. She left behind her husband, two sons and a daughter.

She also got many literary awards for her works that include Madhusudan Award of West Bengal, Poet Jashimuddin Award, Palok Award, etc. She was a life member of Bangla Academy, Asiatic Society and Bangladesh Itihash Parishad.
