RAB DG denies speaking against politics, politicians

CHITTAGONG, Jan 19 (BSS): Director General (DG) of the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) Benazir Ahmed today claimed that he did not speak against politics and politicians rather against killing, terrorism and vandalism.

"How could killing, terrorism and vandalism be part of politics? It is our responsibility to save the people from these acts", the DG RAB said this at a press conference at RAB Chittagong headquarters this afternoon.

Benazir came up with the remarks in the backdrop of ongoing countrywide violence and destructive acts by BNP-led 20 party alliance.

The RAB chief said the country is now passing through a critical juncture as innocent people are being burnt to death and state properties destroyed but the common people want to get rid of these sufferings.
