Rain gives respite to city-dwellers

Some parts of Dhaka on Wednesday experienced moderate rainfall giving an immediate respite from scorching heat for the people.
Met office recorded 13 millimetres rainfall in the last 24 hours till 6.00pm on the day, Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) said in its website.
A number of areas witnessed water-logging due to the rain causing sufferings for the city-dwellers.
The highest and lowest temperatures in Dhaka were 31.8 and 28.4 degrees Celsius respectively on the day.
Light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at many places over Dhaka, Rangpur, Mymensingh, Chattogram, Barishal and Sylhet divisions and at a few places over Rajshahi & Khulna divisions with moderately heavy to heavy falls at places over the country, the BMD said in its forecast.
