Rajuk cracks down on unauthorised extension

Rajdhani Unnayan Kartripakkha (Rajuk) on Tuesday conducted a drive against misuse of residential spaces and unauthorised extension of houses in the capital's Uttara area.
The capital development authority also slapped financial penalty amounting to Tk650,000 (Tk 0.65 million) against owners of various houses and commercial entities for committing the building code violations, according to a press release.
As part of the ongoing crackdown by Rajuk against violations of the Building Codes, a Rajuk team led by its executive magistrate Jasmine Akhter and Authorised Officer Ashraful Islam also asked owners of several houses to remove the illegally extended parts of their buildings on their own within seven days before collecting the occupancy certificate from the authorities.
