Rapist of Rangpur's teenage girl held in Ashulia

RANGPUR, July 15 (BSS): Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) arrested the main accused on charges of raping a teenage girl of Pirganj upazila in Rangpur - from the East Baraipara area under Ashulia police station of Dhaka on Monday night.

The arrestee has been identified as Md Mushfiqur Rahman, 19, son of Nuru Kabi of village Panchgachhi (Janata Bazar) under Pirganj police station of Rangpur, said a press release.

The accused raped the victim after tactfully taking her to a brick kiln on June 23. When the victim informed her family about the incident, her mother filed a rape case with Pirganj police station on the same day.

On a tip-off, an operational team of RAB-13 from Rangpur and Crime Prevention Company-2 of RAB-4 from Savar Camp in a raid arrested the main accused at 11:25 pm on Monday.

The arrested accused has been handed over to the Pirganj police station for further legal action.
