Recipients of 'Bangabandhu Award for Wildlife Conservation'

Two individuals and one organisation in three categories have been nominated for the 'Bangabandhu Award for Wildlife Conservation'.
The decision was taken at a meeting of the Wildlife Advisory Board chaired by Environment, Forest and Climate Change Minister Md. Shahab Uddin at the ministry's conference room on Thursday.
The late wildlife researcher Dr. Mohammad Anisuzzaman Khan has been nominated for the Wildlife Education and Research category and the Government Azizul Haq College, Bogura has been nominated for the Team for Energy and Environmental Research (TIR) award in the category dedicated to wildlife conservation.
In addition, Bakhtiyar Hamid of Chuadanga District has been nominated in the category of Forest and Wildlife Conservation Officer, Renowned Researcher, Scientist, Wildlife Conservationist and Media Personnel/Personality category.
Minister for Environ-ment, Forest and Climate Change Shahab Uddin said that with the extinction of wildlife, the natural balance is being disturbed and environmental disasters are being created.
That is why the present government is working sincerely for the conservation of wildlife. The minister urged all to come forward in this regard, he added.
Person or organization awarded in each category of 'Bangabandhu Award for Wildlife Conservation' will be given cash equivalent to the market value of 2 tolas of gold and a check for Tk 50 thousand and certificate.
