Reaching solutions from scientific research yielding solutions is a must to address climate change challenges in the country, experts said at a programme on Monday.

They also said that recognising the youths' role as active participants in achieving climate justice and addressing the challenges is also important.

The remarks were made during at a press conference titled 'Dubai Climate Conference (COP28): Public's Proposals' jointly organized by the nongovernmental organization Barcik and the Center for Atmospheric Pollution Studies (CAPS) at the National Press Club in the city.

CAPS chairman Prof. Dr. Ahmad Kamruzzaman Majumdar presided over the conference and a director of Barcik, Pavel Partha delivered the keynote speech, according to a statement.

Kamruzzaman Majumdar said the climate conference was a platform where all countries came together to work to deal with climate risks.

"To reduce the risk of climate change in Bangladesh, we will request that policymakers convey the demands of the country's people from all regions at the imminent climate conference," he said.

The COP28 conference would last for only a few days but there was a need for work all year round to bring in climate justice, he said.
