Review meet on sweater knitting held

GAIBANDHA, Sept 7 (BSS): A review meeting on the progress and future plan of sweater knitting and linking machine operating course was held at the Youth Development Training Centre (YDTC) in Tushighat under Sadar Upazila of the district Thursday.
The month-long course is being held here with an aim to solve the unemployment problem through creating jobs for the skilled manpower in the Monga-hit districts including Gaibandha.
The organisers told the news agency Friday that as many as 88 unemployed youths of the region are taking part in the course that was inaugurated earlier by Chief of Army Staff General Moeen U Ahmed.
The Directorate of Youth Development (DYD) is organising the course with financial assistance from the Bangladesh Garments Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA) under the supervision of Bangladesh Army.
The review meeting was presided over by Mosharraf Hossain, director (training) of the DYD. Deputy Commissioner Quazi Md Anwarul Hakim, Local Commanding Officer of Joint Forces M Zahidur Rahim and Police Super Saleh Mohammad Tanvir spoke on the occasion.
