Road crash kills 5, injures 75 in Joypurhat

JOYPURHAT, Oct 11: Five persons were killed and 75 others injured in a road accident at Nimtoli of Khetlal Upazila under Joypurhat district Friday night.
According to the Joypurhat police, the accident occurred when the driver of a Bogra-bound truck lost control of steering and it fell into a roadside ditch.
The truck was carrying about 80 restaurant workers from a wedding ceremony of Panchbibi Upazila.
Five people died on the spot. The injured were admitted to the Joypurhat Zila Mordern Hospital, Kalai Upazila Health Complex and Bogra Medical College Hospital.
The police recovered the truck but the driver could manage to flee.
A case was filed with local police station in this connection.
