Road crash leaves three dead in Ctg

CHATTOGRAM, Nov 26 (UNB): Three people were killed and two others injured as a bus rammed a stationary pickup van on Dhaka-Chattogram highway in Mirsari upazila of the district early Saturday.
The deceased were identified as pickup van driver Md Khorhsed Alam, 38, son of Abdur Rob Befari of Madaripur, passengers-Md Hasan, 42, a resident of Pirojpur and Md Sohel, 38, of Barishal.
Mohammad Alamgir, officer-in-charge Jorarganj Highway police station, said the accident occurred at around 5.30 am when the bus of Ena Paribahan hit the stationary vehicle from behind, leaving five people critically injured.
They were rushed to Mirsarai Health Complex where Khorshed and Hasan were declared dead, he said.
The rest three were rushed to Chattogram Medical College Hospital where Sohel succumbed to his injuries, the OC said adding that the injured were undergoing treatment.
