Road crashes claim six lives in three dists

At least six persons were killed in separate road accidents in Dinajpur, Manikganj and Dhaka on Thursday and Friday, report agencies.

In Dinajpur, a truck driver and his assistant were killed in a road accident involving two trucks in Dinajpur's Ghoraghat upazila.

The accident occurred around 6:30am on Friday morning on the Dinajpur-Govindganj regional highway at T&T Mission intersection.

The dead were identified as truck driver Golam Rabbi (45) and assistant Rezwan (28). The two worked on the same truck. Both of them hailed from Joypurhat's Choumani area.

In Manikganj, two vegetable traders were killed as a covered van hits them in Saturia upazila.

The accident took place around 7:30 am at Golra Bus Stand on Dhaka-Aricha highway on Friday, said Sukhendu Basu, chief of Golra Highway thana.

The dead were identified as Abdus Salam (50), and Sanowar Hossain (45). Both of them hailed from Katigram in Sadar upazila.

Meanwhile, two people including a school student died in separate road accidents in Dhaka's Mugda and Gendaria areas.

The accidents occurred on Thursday night and early Friday.

The schoolboy was identified as Md Mahin Ahmed (13), son of Masum Ahmed of Kishoreganj's Bajitpur upazila but he used to live with his family in the Mugda area.
