Roads must be fit for transportation by July 20: Obaidul Quader

NARAYANGANJ, July 12 (BSS): Communications Minister Obaidul Quader asked the Roads and Highways Department (RHD) authority Saturday to make all the major roads and highways of the country fit for transportation by July 20.

"No excuse will be tolerated and none will go unpunished if he fails discharging his duty appropriately. Work order of the contractors will be cancelled if negligence found in their work. Three teams have been formed from the ministry and they are inspecting the current state of the roads and highways of the country," the minister came up with the observations after inspecting Dhaka-Chittagong highway in Mograpara area in Sonargaon and Upazila sadar road this morning.

"There will be a revolutionary change in country's communications system by 2017-18. People would be able to use the highways more comfortably," he added.
