Robber lynched in Narail

NARAIL, Sep 26 (UNB): Local people surrounded a gang of robbers and beat one to death and rounded up another while they were looting a jute laden truck at Adnan in Sadar Upazila early Thursday.
According to the police, the robbers stopped the Jessore-bound loaded truck from Narail town with a log across the Narail-Jessore road at about 4.30am. They beat the driver and another rider indiscriminately and started looting the truck.
Hearing the hue and cry, local people surrounded the robbers and beat gang member Miraj (30) to death and caught another one, identified as Hasan Sheikh while others managed to flee. Hasan was later handed over to the police after a severe beating by the mob.
Police said Miraj hailed from village Tilghari of Shalikha Upazila under Magura district.
