Robbers free 25 fishermen in Sundarbans

BAGERHAT, May 25 (UNB): Forest robbers Sunday freed 25 fishermen, picked up from the Sundarbans Friday night.
Bangladesh Coast Guard Mongla West Zone Operation Department Staff Officer Lt Commander Mohammad Alauddin said the robbers released all the kidnapped fishermen following a drive of Coast Guard. However, no one was arrested during the drive.
The released fishermen hail from different parts of Mongla Upazila.
Earlier, forest robbers kidnapped the 25 fishermen and looted valuables from 12 fishing trawlers in the Pashur River in Mongla Upazila and at Sonarchar in the Bay of Bengal Friday night.
