RAJSHAHI, Dec 11 (BSS): The Rajshahi Sugar Mills (RSM) launched its crushing season here this afternoon with a target of producing 2,537.50 tonnes of sugar by crushing 35,000 tonnes of sugarcane during the current 2009-10 fiscal year.
Local lawmaker Meraj Uddin Mollah addressed the launching ceremony as the chief guest, while Director (Finance) of Bangladesh Sugar and Food Industries Corporation AKM Delwar Hossain and its Chief Cane Procurement and Extension Yahya Miah the special guests.
RSM Managing Director Azizur Rahman presided over the inaugural function.
The mill had produced 5,671 tonnes of sugar by crushing 85,155.79 tonnes of sugarcane in the last season.
