Russia to provide 13 scholarships for BD students

Russia would provide 13 scholarships for Bangladeshi students especially from Dhaka University (DU) to pursue PhD, Post-graduate and Under-graduate programmes in Russia, reports BSS.
First Secretary and Head of the Cultural Department of the Russian embassy in Dhaka Alexander P Demin disclosed this when he called on Dhaka University Vice-Chancellor (VC) Prof Dr AAMS Arefin Siddique at his office.
The Russian diplomat also informed the VC that a team of visiting professors of Nuclear engineering from Russia would visit DU from March 17 to March 22 this year and deliver lecture to M Sc students of the Department of Nuclear Engineering of the country's premier university.
During the meeting, they also discussed matters relating to mutual interest especially the ongoing joint collaborative academic and research programmes between the University of Dhaka and universities in Russia, a DU press release said.
Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. AAMS Arefin Siddique thanked the Russian government for its keen interest in expanding the Russian help and collaboration with Dhaka University. Prof Dr Khorshed Ahmed Kabir, Chairman of the Department of Nuclear Engineering of Dhaka University was present on this occasion.
