Saima Wazed Hossain, president of Bangladesh National Advisory Committee for Autism and Neurodevelopment Disorders, on Tuesday said there was no alternative to ensuring mental health care to achieve Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), reports BSS.

She called upon the health professionals and therapists of Bangladesh to ensure the highest level of holistic health care for the physically and mentally-challenged people.

Saima also sought cooperation of all to ensure mental health services in the country with limited resources.

Saima Wazed Hossain as the chief guest made the call while addressing a webinar titled 'A day centre for people with mental health needs: a model care of Bangladesh'.

The Centre for the Rehabilitation of the Paralysed (CRP) organised the event, marking the 28th World Mental Health Day.

In 2018, the CRP with the support of the Kaduri Charitable Foundation set up a day-care centre for mental health at Ganakbari, Savar.
