SC lawyers to provide legal aid to job quota protesters

At least 20 lawyers of the Supreme Court (SC) Lawyers Association announced on Monday they will provide free legal aid to quota reform protesters over police attack on them, reports UNB.

The leaders of the association made the announcement while speaking at a press briefing, at Supreme Court Law Reports Forum office in the city.

Lawyers said if any harassment case against the students and torture incident took place on them, they can get free legal aid from them.

If the victim student's family members contact with them for legal aid, the lawyers are ready to help them free of cost. They would go to the lower court if needed and help the quota reformers, they added.

Advocate Hasanat Quaium, Barrister Jatirmay Barua, Advocate Ainurnnahar Siddiqua, Barrister Anik Haque, Advocate Dr Kazi, Jahed Iqbal, Shahariar Shakir, Anwar Reza, Humayun Kabir, Hasan Arif Chowdhury, Parvez Hasem, Utpal Biswas, Jabeda Gulruk, Nasir Ahmed and Ariful Haque, among others, were present at the briefing.
