SC special committee holds meeting over children's bail

The Supreme Court (SC) Special Committee for Child Rights on Sunday held a meeting through video conference over how to protect the rights of the children living in several juvenile development centres (Kishore Unnayan Kendra) in legal ways during the crisis situation amid coronavirus pandemic.

The committee also discussed over how a child court could dispose of a bail petition of a child easily in legal way in this situation.

Many children are kept in the insufficient spaces of the academies which may cause the infection of coronavirus among them. Therefore, the committee discussed over how the children could get an easy remedy in legal way.

The committee would take a proper step in this regard, informed Md Saifur Rahman, a special officer of the High Court Division of the Supreme Court.

Chairman of the Supreme Court Special Committee for Child Rights Justice Muhammad Imman Ali and members of the committee -- Justice Naima Haider, Justice Sheikh Hassan Arif and Justice Khizir Ahmed Choudhury-- and others participated in the meeting through video call from their own houses on Sunday.
