The High Court (HC) has vacated the six-month stay order on Chittagong A-level student Himadri Majumder Himu's murder trial, reports bdnews24.com.
Prosecutors said the trial can now proceed while the young victim's father Prabir Mojumder said he is relieved to hear the court's decision.
A copy of the order issued by Justice Naima Haider and Justice Zafar Ahmed reached Chittagong's Fourth Additional Metropolitan Sessions Judge's Court Monday.
The very bench had issued the stay order on July 21 following a plea by one of the accused. The trial came to a halt after a copy of the order had reached the court in Chittagong on August 4.
Himu, a student of Summerfield School and College, was allegedly pushed off from his friend Junaid Ahmed Riad's house in the port city's Panchlaish Residential area on April 27, 2012.
Riad and his friends including Shahdat Hossain, Mahbub Ali Danny and Jahidur Rahman Shaon are also accused of setting a pack of Doberman dogs after him.
Himu succumbed to his wounds 26 days later at the capital's Square Hospital.
Riad's father Shah Selim Tipu is also an accused in the case.
