She never thought she would ever be able to enter Bangabhaban, let alone meeting the President. To her surprise, Sanjida Afrin Smriti, a fourth-grader, saw everything unbelievable happening in one day.
"I'm very excited today. I never imagined meeting the country's President and being able to spend time with him at Bangabhaban," 10-year-old Smriti, a student of Azimpur Shishu Bikash Academy, told UNB.
Like Smriti, some 260 children from 11 districts, including underprivileged ones, aged between 6 and 14, got the rare opportunity to meet the President and spend a day with him.
The Ministry of Women and Children Affairs organised the event titled 'Gathering of Children with President' at the presidential palace.
