A 12-year-old school student was electrocuted Saturday noon in the city's Matuail area, reports BSS.
The victim was identified as Md Jasim Munshi, son of Khokon Mia, a resident of Dakhhin Matuail under Jatrabari police station.
He was a student of class three of Matuail Primary School. Jasim was reportedly electrocuted as he touched a live wire while trying to collect a ball from the rooftop of their house at around 12.00 noon, police and hospital sources said.
He was rushed to the emergency department of Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) where the on-duty physicians pronounced him dead.
