School student kills self in city

A high school student committed suicide at a house located in the Elephant Road area in the capital on Saturday.

The deceased was identified as Arham Ahmed Saad, 16, studied at class nine of Munshi Abdur Rouf High School, Pilkhana in the city.

Arham had a rift with her mother over food that led him to hang himself to a ceiling with a scarf, according to police station concerned.

Later, he was brought to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) at about 12:30 pm in an unconscious state, where the attending doctor declared him dead.
