Schoolteacher\\\'s killers to be brought to justice: Nahid

Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid said Monday action will be taken against those responsible for the death of a schoolteacher in Noakhali during hartal.

"Deputy Commissioner of Noakhali has been ordered to arrest the pickets responsible for the schoolteacher's death immediately and take action," said Nahid while talking to journalists at the Education Ministry.

Condemning the incident, the Education Minister said: "We're shocked and aggrieved at the incident. BNP's hartal goes against education, examinations and results."

He urged BNP and its allies to shun the path of hartal for the sake of education and safety of public life.

Shasunnahar (37), hailing from Poragachha village under Ramganj Upazila of Laxmipur district and a teacher of Towhid Laboratory School in West Agargaon area in the capital, was killed after being hit in the head with a brick chip hurled by pickets in Sadar Upazila headquarters Monday.
