President Md Abdul Hamid has praised the activities of Bangladesh Scout and underscored the need for strengthening and expanding the scout movement in the country, reports BSS.
The president made the remarks when a delegation of Bangladesh Scouts led by its president Abdul Karim called on him at Bangabhaban Wednesday.
The delegation expressed their gratitude to the President for his consent to be the chief guest at the 43rd annual general meeting of Bangladesh Scouts to be held on July 16.
Later, a delegation of Dhaka University Journalists Association (DUJA) led by its adviser and Vice-Chancellor of the university Dr AAMS Arefin Siddique made a courtesy call on President Abdul Hamid.
The delegation apprised the President of the activities of DUJA.
Abdul Hamid urged the delegation to pursue objective journalism and advised them to refrain from publishing any motivated news.
