Former sports reporter of now-defunct daily Observer and Jatiya Press Club (JPC) senior member Buddha Dev Mukharjee, popularly known as BD Mukharjee, died of old-age complications at his own Bashabo residence in the capital on Monday.
He was 74, reports BSS.
A lifelong bachelor Mukharjee was cremated at Borodeshwari Kalimata Mohashashan in the capital.
JPC president Hasan Hafiz and general secretary Ayub Bhuiyan expressed profound shock and sorrow at the death of Mukharjee and prayed for salvation of the departed soul.
