Separate accidents kill 2 in Sirajganj

SIRAJGANJ, Oct 4 (bdnews24.com): Two people were killed in two separate road accidents in Sirajganj on Saturday.

One of the accidents also left five others injured.

Police identified the deceased as Fancy Khatun, 18, and Samir Uddin.

The first accident, Hatikumrul Highway Police Station Sub-Inspector Ashrafuzzaman said, took place in the morning at Royganj upazila's Bhuiyangati on Sirajganj-Bogra highway when a microbus and a truck collided head-on.

The girl, a passenger of the microbus, died on the spot.

Five more injured were taken to different hospitals in Bogra and Sirajganj.

In the other incident, a truck hit a rickshaw-van from behind on the highway at the west bank of Bangabandhu Bridge, killing van driver Samir Uddin on spot Saturday morning, said Bangabandhu Bridge West Bank Police Station OC Aminul Islam.
