Railways Minister Md Mujibul Haque said Sunday a separate railway bridge would be built beside the Bangabandhu Bridge on the river Jamuna, reports BSS.
"The government has taken initiatives to upgrade the railway services to the international standard," he said.

The minister said the rescue work of the ill-fated passenger train was too much risky.
But, the officials and employees of Bangladesh Railway rescued the compartments safely, he added.
Secretary of the ministry M Abul Kalam Azad and Director General of Bangladesh Railway M Tafazzal Hossain spoke the function as special guests.
