Seven killed in separate incidents

Seven persons were killed and many others injured in separate incidents in different places of the country during the last two days, report agencies.
In Laxmipur, two children were killed and five other people injured in three separate road accidents on Laxmipur-Ramgati road Tuesday.
A minor boy died on the spot when a Laxmipur bound bus from Ramgati dashed him on the road in Sekandar Miar Rasta area at noon.
The dead was identified as Abdul Karim, son of Abdul Khalek of Ramgati Pourashava area.
In another accident, a minor girl was killed and her younger sister injured when a speeding bus hit them on the same road at Chourasata Bazar while they were crossing it, few seconds before Iftar.
The deceased was identified as Falguni. Her sister Sumi, was sent to Dhaka in critical condition.
Besides, four people were injured when a timber loaded trolley knocked down a rickshaw from behind at Panpara in the afternoon.
In Sirajganj, a cyclist was crushed under the wheels of a truck at Koraidda crossing on the western side link road of Jamuna Bridge in Sadar Upazila Tuesday evening.
The dead was identified as Saiful Islam of Chatali village in Sadar Upazila of the district.
Witnesses said the Bogra-bound truck from Dhaka dashed Saiful at about 6:30pm, killing him on the spot.
The killer truck managed to flee the scene. A case was filed with the police.
In Satkhira, a minor boy was killed on a road at Nalta Bazar on the Satkhira-Shyamnagar road Wednesday afternoon.
The deceased was identified Abdur Rahman, son of Abdul Kuddus of Hizla village in Kaliganj Upazila.
Police said Abdur Rahman was crushed under the wheels of a passenger bus at about 1.30pm leaving him dead on the spot.
Another report from Magura adds: Zulekha was run over by a microbus at Sheikhpara on the Magura-Jessore road at about 3.00pm Wednesday.
In Narsingdi, a housewife was strangulated to death allegedly by her husband for dowry at Damer Bhaola village in Sadar Upazila early Wednesday.
Police said Jewel Miah had been demanding Tk 50,000 dowry from his in-laws. On the fateful night, Jewel and his wife Nasima Akter locked into altercation on the matter.
In Chapainawabganj, the police of Shibganj and Gomostapur thanas recovered two bodies from two different places.
According to Gomostapur thana police, being informed by the local people they recovered the body of a woman identified as Nasimon, wife of Asgar Ali of Mirapur Battala of Nandipur union under Gomostapur Upazila of Chapainawabganj district from a canal of the same area.
OC of Gomostapur thana said that there was mark of injury by sharp weapon on the head of Nasimon. Police of Shibganj thana also recovered a beheaded body from a mango orchard at Kagmari of Shahbajpur union under Shibganj Upazila.
The body was identified as Nayeem of the same area. Being informed by the chairman of the union porisad police recovered the body.
Two separate cases were filed with the concerned thanas in this connection.
