Seventeen killed in separate incidents

Seventeen persons were killed and many others injured in separate incidents in different places of the country during the last two days, report agencies.
In Natore, unnatural deaths of three minors, including two cousins, were reported in the district Saturday.
The police said two minor cousins drowned in a pond at Adgram in Boraigram Upazila at noon.
The deceased were identified as Dhrubo (2) and his 18-month-old cousin Antara.
Meanwhile, an unidentified boy, aged about (10) was killed when he fell off the roof of his house at Chandpur.
A middle aged man, who was burnt by miscreants at Jalora village in Boroigram Upazila here Thursday night, succumbed Friday noon.
In Jessore, miscreants at Bahadurpur village in Sadar Upazila stabbed a truck driver to death. The victim was identified as Mazed Mollah son of Kubad Ali Mollah of the village
Two people were killed and two others injured in lightning in Lalpur Upazila.
Local people said thunderbolt hit Khaleda Akter of Angaripara village when she was sleeping inside the house leaving her dead on the spot.
Meanwhile, Moksed Ali of Boalipara village was killed when lightning struck him at the same time.
In Sherpur, A man drowned as a boat capsized in a water body in Nalitabari Upazila Sunday afternoon.
The deceased was identified as Abul Hashem a village doctor of Golla Namapara area.
In Mymensingh, a woman was killed and five others were injured when a boat capsized at a beel (water body) in Iswarganj Upazila Saturday morning.
In Jamalpur, two elderly people were killed in lightning at Gobindapur village in Sadar Upazila Saturday morning.
In Comilla, two people were killed and five injured in separate road accidents in Chouddagram and Burichang upazilas Saturday morning.
The police said a Chittagong-bound truck rammed into a Dhaka-bound private car at Kalakochua in Burichang Upazila at about 7.00 am leaving four private car passengers injured.
One of the injured succumbed at Comilla Combined Military Hospital. Identity of the deceased could not be known immediately.
In another incident, an unidentified man was killed and two others injured at 7:10 am when a covered van hit a private car at Dawsar in Chouddagram Upazila.
A young man was electrocuted at village Bareshar under Burichang Upazila in the district.
Local sources said the victim, Parvez, was electrocuted while he was doing some electric work in his room. In Sylhet, a sanitary worker died after falling off the roof of a building in Jallarpar area of the city Thursday afternoon.
Another report adds: The hanging body of a young man was recovered from his residence in Dhopadighirpar area of the city.
The dead was identified as Nikhil Chakravarti son of Natbar Chakravarti hailed from Shibpasha village in Nabiganj Upazila of Habiganj district.
In Gaibandha, a man committed suicide by jumping under a the Lalmonirhat bound inter-city train 'Lalmoni Express' at Badikhali under Sadar Upazila in the district.
